First off, thanks to all of you who came out and played on Championship Sunday. The weather was decent, the food was delicious and the beer cold!! Congrats to our on course prize winners… David Evans, Rick Kennan, Steve Gray, and… Derryl Miller… I think… and Kelly Hess won the long drive.

I will be dividing up the money and getting the trophies made over the next couple of days. However, I forgot that I will be going out of town this Thursday. So, I probably won’t have all of this stuff figured out until next week sometime. I will post something on here when I have everything ready for you all to pick up.
Thank you for playing this year. It was our biggest group of guys and everything seemed to run very smoothly! A special thanks should be extended to Mr. Scott Stroz for the development of the web site!
Talk to you all soon, CF
I am going to have to put a 5 some out on the course tomorrow, so, we’ll have to see how best to get everyone off. The 5some will be the top 4 teams in the standings and I would like for them to be the last ones off number 1 so everyone can watch the finish on 18. So I may shotgun everyone off and keep the 5 some back until everyone is clear of number 1 tee.
Group 1- Causey(18th) vs Polk/Rjasko (21st)
Group 2- Team Smith (16th) vs Cummings (17th)
Group 3- Haymaker (14th) vs Boyle/Matson (15th)
Group 4- Kennan (12th) vs Douglas/Torlone (13th)
Group 5- Stroz/Evans (10th) vs Carswell (11th)
Group 6- Chambers/Lapole (7th) vs Team Hess (8th)
Group 7- Petty (5th) vs Team Kubic (6th)
Group 8- Polczynski (3rd) vs Allen (4th) and Southern/Miller (1st) vs Gray (2nd)
I hope everyone can rest easy tonight! It all come down to this…Championship Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay tuned as I have had someone say they can play. I will post the pairings tomorrow evening. If someone shows to play on Sunday without registering, I will just have to find a place for them. They might not necessarily play the team they are closest to in the league standings. They may not get to play anyone at all as I have 7 full groups at this point. That’s the best I can do. CF
All of the standings are up to date and I have a pairing sheet made out I will put at the end of the post.
I few things… I will have all of the unclaimed gift certificates on Sunday. We will also have a few games to play during the Championship Round. Glory Days will be our food afterwards. There were 26 of you who signed up to play, representing 17 teams. So, I have had to make an executive decision and jostle the pairings a bit. I will also keep an extra couple of groups open in case there are some late decisions on playing. Scott is going to be sending out an email to let those who didn’t play on Thursday know we are playing this Sunday at 10am for $45 a player. This cost is just for greens fee and cart. Food and prizes are already accounted for.
Pairings for Championship Sunday-
Group1- 1st vs 2nd- Southern/Miller vs. Grey
Group2- 3rd vs 5th , 17th vs 18th- Polczynski vs Petty and Cummings vs Causey
Group3- 6th vs 7th- Team Kubic vs Chambers/Lapole
Group4- 9th vs 10th- Team Hess vs Stroz/Evans
Group5- 12th vs 13th- Kennan vs Douglas/Torlone
Group6- 14th vs 15th- Haymaker vs Boyle/Matson
Group7- 16th vs 21st- Team Smith vs Polk/Rjasko
As I mentioned earlier, I will keep a couple extra tee times in case we have some late entrees. If you know anyone who missed the sign up sheet Thursday, but know they want to play, please have them contact me ASAP. I will have to adjust the pairings if some others decide to join us.
Also for those of you who are playing in Group2… I am going to use your scores and handicaps straight up. I don’t see the point in doubling everything when you are playing head to head. This is consitent with how I have scores head to head matches through the course of the season. For example a single team member playing a match against another single team member.
All handicaps will be adjusted to reflect an 18 hole match.
Play your best on Sunday, have fun, and let’s see who has what it takes to be named Thursday Night League Champions!!!
See you all Sunday,
CF
The week 21 scores have been entered and the standings are up to date. Good luck tonight…grab as many points as you can to position your team for the Championships on Sunday!
Howdy everyone. Just want to go over a few things before Thursday evening.
Last weeks round will not be made up. We will proceed with the schedule and this weeks matches will be the final round of the regular season.
As far as this Sunday goes, I haven’t received much feed back on the proposed date, cost, etc. I was even asked about the Championship Round scoring. So what I would like for everyone to do is this.
Please respond to these questions and let me know if you would like to play this Sunday or not. I need to get a pretty good idea of how many players we are going to have. The cost will be $45 a man and we will be shotgunning at 10Am. We can move the date back a week or two if we need to. I just need a majority decision from the group as soon as possible.
Scoring. I believe, and correct me if I’m wrong, we made the decision when we went over the rules at our meeting that the Championship Round would be scored 18 points, and any position can move up. For example, if the 12 place team were to some how score enough points to move into the top five and finish in the money, so be it. What is everyones understanding and opinion of this?
I was asked about the scoring if a team would be unable to compete on Sunday that it would be unfair to base the final standings on the points won on Sunday. I would like to propose this. I would like as many of us to play together as possible on Sunday. If a team can’t make it, I would suggest trying to make up the match. I would say any match played before next Sunday, Oct.2 can be scored for the standings. If there is absolutely no chance to do this the winning team, by forfeit, would receive 14 points. That is just under 80% of the 18 points up for grabs on Sunday. This number is consistent with the 8 points received for a forfeit during the regular season. What are your thoughts, comments on this?
Awards. Because we are having a Championship Round, I will be unable to have all of the awards and money figured out at the end of the round. I will need about a week to get the trophies made and money counted. Would you all like to get back together one last time to do this, or should I just get everything together and let you all come and pick it up when you have the time? We could do the food at this time. An Awards Banquet if you will. Or I can try and have something for us to eat on Sunday, and get you the prizes and trophies when they are finished. Thoughts?
Please discuss all of this on Thursday and try to come to some kind of conclusion. I will try and be there Thursday to help with the decisions.
Thanks for everything this year. I hope you all had a lot of fun!
Thanks, CF
week 20 is in the books and the championship is still up for grabs! i have made the appropriate corrections to the two prior weeks that were under question.
apparently there were no on course prizes last week, so i’ll do a random draw. the gift certificates will be in the clubhouse this thursday.
the greens are healing very nicely so there should be no excuses this week!!
good luck!!
The week 19 scores have been entered and the standings are up to date.
Closest to the Pin (#7) won by Bill Douglas. Longest Drive (#8) won by Kelly Hess.
5 weeks to go in the 2011 regular season. Championship Sunday is tentatively on the schedule for September 25. Probably be a shotgun at 10AM. Cost will be $45 a man. Questions, Comments?
Long Drive won by Barry Grimm, CTP won by Rick Kennan.
Standings are current and the race is on! Bill Douglas won long drive and CTP was won by Steve Matson. Good luck tonight… don’t get above the hole???!!!
Week 16 finds us with new leaders at the top of the “Money List” with just a point and a half seperating 1st to the 3rd place. Each week the points become more and more important! Those at the top can’t afford to miss the opportunity to win as many points as possible for the remander of the season. Who needs the Fed Ex Cup when you have the Locust Hill League Championship up for stakes!!?
I’m not sure who won the long drive. I’m sure they know as I don’t have a GC for it. The closest to the pin was won by Doug Chambers.
Good luck this week!!
All is up to date. Closest to the pin winners were- 7/21-Derryl Miller, 7/28- George Cummings
Long Drive- 7/21- Tim Boyde, 7/28- Bill Polk
Week 13 is inthe books. I am missing a score card for the match of Grey/Blank vs. Southern/Miller. Please let me know if you all played and forgot to turn it in or if it was turned in and miss placed.
Closest to the pin- Rick Lapole
Long Drive- Bob Smith.
Becareful out there tonight! The temperatures will still be around 100 when you all tee off at 5:30.
I apologize for not having let you all know what was going on last week. The standings you all saw were up to date. I have just posted week 12 scores as as well. I had an irrigation break that consumed much of the early part of last week and when I went to get everything entered Thursday afternoon I had computer problems. So last week you all played with handicaps from the previous week. Handicaps will be current for tomorrows rounds.
Last weeks closest to the pin was won by Bill Polk. Long Drive was won by Hutch Bae. Good luck this week!!
